Rotary International has announced Rtn. Francesco Arezzo of the Rotary Club of Ragusa, Italy, as its President for the 2025-26 Rotary year, following the resignation of President-elect Mario Cesar Martins de Camargo on 8 June.
Arezzo brings with him more than three decades of Rotary experience and a distinguished professional career. An orthodontist by training, he runs a successful private practice and also manages an agricultural enterprise in Sicily that produces award-winning extra virgin olive oil.
A graduate of the University of Padua, Arezzo is a member of several respected orthodontic associations across Italy, Europe, and the United States. He also completed his degree in dentistry - and later a master's in lingual orthodontics - at the University of Cagliari. Beyond his medical career, he has served in leadership roles such as vice president of the National Association of Italian Dentists (Ragusa province) and founder of the Ragusa delegation of the National Trust for Italy, which he led for seven years.
Arezzo's connection to Sicilian culture and agriculture runs deep. His olive oil enterprise is part of the renowned Monti Iblei region, where he has also served as vice president of the local consortium that oversees quality standards for olive oil production. In addition, he owns two boutique hotel properties in the region. Away from work, he enjoys modern art and opera.
Within Rotary, Arezzo has held numerous key roles over his 36 years of service, including vice chair of the Joint Strategic Planning Committee, RI director, chair of the 2023 Melbourne Convention Committee, learning facilitator, and district conference presidential representative.
Francesco's partner, Anna Maria Criscione, is an entrepreneur in the tourism sector. Together, they have two daughters and two grandchildren. Their daughter Raffaela participated in a Rotary Youth Exchange year in Florida-an experience that strengthened the family's connection to Rotary's global mission. Francesco and Anna Maria are also proud Benefactors and Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation.
Arezzo will officially begin his term as Rotary International President on 1 July 2025, guiding the organization from its headquarters in Evanston, Illinois, USA.
